Our town is on the up – but there’s much further to go. That was David Cameron’s message on his visit to Corby this year. Real regeneration is about more than putting up buildings – it’s about listening to local people. As your prospective Conservative MP, I’ve been campaigning with our Conservative councillors on issues that really matter to local people – like stopping Labour’s cuts to our NHS services, improving local schools, and making sure Corby gets the roads, the rail station, the infrastructure and the good jobs that our town deserves.
Recently my campaign to save civil service jobs at Crown House, Corby, revealed a scandal – that Labour says our town is too poorly educated, not ethnically diverse enough and without good enough transport links. How dare they? John Reid’s Home Office confirmed to a national newspaper that they stood behind the Prison Service’s reasoning in transferring our jobs to Leicester. Corby people know we need good jobs to power our recovery. If you demand an end to health service cuts, a better police service, and are as disgusted by this judgement on the town as we are, then we hope you’ll vote for change in May.
Under David Cameron, the Conservatives are fighting on a message of change, optimism and hope. We’re fed up with the scandals and incompetence of this tired government. From sending our soldiers into Iraq so ill-equipped they have to buy their own boots to massive NHS cuts across the country, Labour are out of ideas and out of options. The Conservatives are driving debate on education, the NHS, and the environment. In Corby, we stand for good jobs and enterprise, cleaner streets, safer communities, and easing congestion. I’ve included a short survey on local issues, and I’d love to have your opinion however you plan to vote. Or you can let me know your thoughts direct – there are ways to contact me at the end of this newspaper.
Labour have controlled our town for 23 straight years. I believe Corby can be and will be so much more. Our party has changed. Corby is changing. This May, I hope you’ll vote to join us. The future of Corby is in your hands!
